How to Get Involved With the Congress
Excited about Calgary 2026 and the 27th Congress and General Assembly of the IUCr? Curious about the topics that will be on the agenda or how you can get involved in the planning? We're eager to share what’s in store!
The International Programming Committee (IPC) is just starting its work. Every three years, the commissions and advisory committees of the IUCr nominate one representative to bring session topics to the IPC, typically discussed and agreed upon in advance by the individual commissions and committees. Then, during a two day meeting in the spring the year before the congress, the IPC reviews the proposed sessions, streamlines similar scientific themes, and drafts the Congress program.
If you are interested in being involved in the program planning, we encourage you to reach out to the chairs of any commission whose focus is of interest to you. You can propose session topics and even volunteer to co-chair a session.
A list of all the commissions and contact information for their chairs can be found here.
Information on individual advisory committees can be found through links on this page.
We look forward to an excellent program, driven by the worldwide community of crystallographers and structural scientists, and hope to see you in Calgary for IUCr2026.
