Call for Workshops @ IUCr 2026
The Program Committee and Local Organizing Committee for IUCr 2026 invite expressions of interest to host a satellite meeting or conduct workshops for IUCr 2026 delegates in the lead-up to the Congress. Workshop Information
The IUCr 2026 Program Committee and Local Organizing Committee are delighted to invite expressions of interest from individuals or groups interested in hosting pre-Congress workshops. These workshops will be held on August 10–11, 2026, at the BMO Centre, utilizing dedicated Congress-provided space.
Workshops may be scheduled as half-day, full-day, or two-day sessions and should provide unique content that goes beyond the standard Congress meeting and symposium format. All workshops must conclude before the official opening ceremony of the Congress on August 11, 2026. Additionally, workshops should not serve as an extension of a meeting or symposium session, nor should they be used to promote a single commercial product. Please be prepared to list all IUCr commissions and/or organizations that are most relevant to the proposed workshop.
The Congress will provide the venue along with a standard AV setup, including a projector, screen, and two microphones. Please note that power for individual laptops is not included and must be arranged separately. Workshop organizers will be responsible for coordinating any additional AV needs, as well as food and beverage arrangements, in collaboration with the conference team. A budget will be developed jointly to ensure all costs are accounted for and that registration or other funding sources align with expenses.
Workshops will be open exclusively to registered Congress attendees, with online registration managed by the conference organizers.

Satellite Meetings
Satellite meetings can be held anywhere in the world before or after the 26th Congress. Organizers may choose to charge registration or other fees; however, these payments are independent of the Congress and shall receive no administrative support from conference organizers. No satellite meetings should take place on the first day of the Congress (11 August).
